KARACHI, March 27: Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr Attaur Rehman will inaugurate a five-day international seminar and course “The foundations of moral thought: From the Greeks to contemporary bioethics” on April 4 at the Deewan Farooq Medical Complex of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation.
The event is being organized by the Centre of Biomedical Ethics and Culture that was inaugurated at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation in October 2004, a SIUT press release stated here on Sunday.
Speakers to address the seminar include Al-Mawrid Institute of Islamic Sciences President Dr Jawaid Ghamadi; Director Centre for Biomedical Ethics, University of Virginia, Prof Jonathan Moreno; Prof Abdulaziz Sachedina from Virginia University; WHO Senior Policy Adviser Dr Haytham Al-Khayat; Medical Sociologist Prof Renee Fox from the University of Pennsylvania; Social Sciences Scholar Prof Judith Swazey from Boston University; Prof Manzoor Ahmed, Prof Farhat Moazam and Dr Aamir Jafarey. —APP
