KARACHI, March 27: Chief Secretary Aslam Sanjrani taking note of public complaints regarding open man holes, inadequate disposal of sewage and unattended heaps of garbage, has directed KWSB authorities to ensure improved hygienic conditions.

The chief secretary particularly urged that not only covers be arranged for all man holes, but a system be evolved to prevent their theft, making concerned staffers accountable for the disappearance of covers.

Mr Sanjrani particularly asked for immediate arrangements for improved sanitary conditions at sites around educational institutions, hospitals, mosques, imambargahs and graveyards.

The chief secretary also advised the DIG Traffic to take into account the plight of commuters and ensure that the code of ethics and related laws were strictly complied with by drivers and conductors. He stressed vigilance on overloading, overtaking and rash driving.—APP
