WASHINGTON, March 26: Hours after offering to sell F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan, the US State Department renewed its travel warning for the country, urging Americans to defer “non-essential travel to Pakistan”. In a statement issued on Friday evening, the department said that “ongoing concerns about the possibility of terrorist activity directed against American citizens and interests” caused it to issue a new travel warning for Pakistan. The department reminded Americans that the US Embassy in Islamabad and the consulates in Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar continue to operate.
