Arms returned to legislators

RAWALPINDI, March 23: The weapons collected by the army and police personnel during a joint search operation in the parliament lodges were returned to the parliamentarians on Wednesday night, a source said. He said none of the weapons was found illegal. Earlier, it had been decided that all the weapons would be shifted to the Secretariat police station but, later it had been decided to keep them on the lodges premises under tight security.

Meanwhile, law-enforcement personnel intercepted a person carrying 30-bore pistol from Rawal Dam road on Wednesday morning.

Police said Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Gilgit, had been serving with a private security agency.

Besides an illegal pistol,

the police also recovered 10-rounds from his possession. The police are interrogating the accused.
