KARACHI, March 23: The Sindh governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad has denied the presence of any political crisis in Sindh, and said the provincial government was having a smooth sailing.
He said a no-confidence motion by the opposition against the Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, will not effect the situation.
He said this while talking to journalists at the Karachi Race Club on Wednesday. Provincial Transport Minister Adil Siddiqi and Adviser on Local Government Waseem Akhtar were also present.
To a question, the governor said the MQM chief, Altaf Hussain, had taken a right decision that a peaceful and political solution be found out regarding the Balochistan issue.
He told a questioner that he had nominated MPA Mohammad Hussain to chair the special session of the Sindh Assembly on Thursday.
He described the condition in Sindh as satisfactory, and cited it as the reason that large scale investment was pouring in from abroad, adding that a new era of progress and prosperity was starting in the province.— APP
