Published March 24, 2005

KARACHI, March 23: A policeman was killed and another received injuries when unknown men opened fire on them in Baghdadi on Wednesday. Lyari town police officer Omar Shahid said two constables Jahangir and Ansar had stopped two suspects on a motorcycle and tried to frisk them, on which the suspects shot at the policemen and sped away.

The two policemen suffered bullet wounds, and were taken to a hospital where one of them Jahangir succumbed to his injuries.

“The incident has nothing to do with Lyari’s gang-war as the modus operendi of the incident was altogether different from Rehman Dakait or Arshad Pappu gangs,” the TPO Lyari said.
