Manhandling of NP leaders: highway blocked

QUETTA, March 22: National Party activists and supporters blocked the National Highway between Quetta and Karachi at Lakpass, Mungochar, Kalat and Khuzdar for eight hours to protest against the manhandling of their party chief Dr Hayee Baloch and two other leaders by some unknown men in Bolan area. The protesters blocked the Lakpass at 8am and the blockade continued till 4pm. Traffic was also stopped in Khuzdar and Mungochar, causing hardship to passengers travelling on this route. No untoward incident was reported from the areas.

NP Information Secretary Dr Ishaque Baloch told Dawn that activists and supporters of the party blocked the highway between Quetta and Karachi to lodge their protest against the incident. He said a complete strike was observed in Bhag, Nushki, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung and other towns.
