LAHORE, March 22: A five-match series between Pakistan and the Indian deaf cricket team will begin at the Qadhafi Stadium on Thursday.
The schedule was announced at a joint press conference addressed by All-India Deaf Cricket Association secretary, Surinder Magan and the chief organizer and an official of the Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association Shoaib Hasan at the Lahore Press Club on Tuesday.
Shoaib said the second match will be played at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on March 26, the third at Peshawar on March 28, the fourth at National Stadium, Karachi, on March 31 and the fifth at the Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi, on April 2.
He said arrangements had been made to organize the first series between the two teams. Earlier, the blind cricket teams of both the countries had paid a visit to each other.
Surinder claimed that tough competitions would be expected in the series. Surinder said Pakistan would also visit India in October to play a five-match series there.
He said Pakistan would also be featuring in the second World Cup to be held at Luckhnow, India from Nov 16 to 22 this year.
The other countries are England, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Nepal and hosts India.
The contest is being held after 10 years as the first edition was held way back in 1995 at Melbourne, Australia.
