Steps urged to curb terrorism

ISLAMABAD, March 22: Ulema and scholars should work together to wipe out terrorism from society, said Parliamentary Secretary for Education Dewan Syed Jaffar Hussain Bokhari. He was speaking at a Nauroz ceremony organized by the Bari Imam Society on Tuesday.

Mr Bokhari said mystics of Asia celebrated Nauroz as their important event. According to tradition, he added, the earth came into being on Nauroz (March 21). He said Muslims should introduce their traditions to the western world.

Dr Ghazanfar Mehdi said Islam is the religion of moderation and we have to redesign our values on the footsteps of Sufis. Special prayers were offered on the occasion for integrity and prosperity of Pakistan.
