PESHAWAR: Work to begin soon on Rs60m project: minister


PESHAWAR, March 22: Minister of State for Water & Power, Amir Muqam, on Tuesday said that the country would achieve the goal of economic prosperity soon.

Addressing a public gathering at the inauguration of Pesco’s sub-division office at Alpori in Shangla district, the minister said the devolution plan had empowered every individual.

He informed the participants that a safety wall would be constructed along the river from Alpori to Karora at a cost of Rs60 million. Work on construction of the wall would start next month, he added.

The minister directed Wapda authorities to complete the project for supply of electricity to Damori within two months.

He also gave approval for early completion of schemes of power supply in Alpori and construction of link roads in certain areas in Shangla district.

Mr Muqam said construction work on Alpori-Bisham road would start soon, and a TV booster would be installed at Tehsil Alpori.—APP
