Electric pylon blown up in Nushki

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, March 21: A powerful explosion occurred in Nushki on Monday night and unknown saboteurs blew up a big pylon of 132kv Kirdegab transmission line there. According to reports, a bomb exploded near a workshop in the main bazaar, damaging the wall and gate of the building. The local made bomb went off at about 10.30pm but there was no casualty, police said. Earlier on Sunday and Monday midnight, saboteurs blew up the electric tower, disrupting power supply to vast area between Nushki and Kashngi.

“The tower was blown up by a high explosive material,” a spokesman of the Quetta Electricity Supply Company confirmed. However, the tower did not fall despite heavy explosion. The power supply was restored by the Qesco engineers making temporary arrangements and new tower would be installed soon.
