KARACHI, March 19: Mubashir Adridi and Nasir Mushtaq moved smoothly ahead in the Sindh ranking tennis championship breezing past their respective opponents on Saturday at the Karachi Gymkhana tennis courts.
Mubashir had little diffuclty in shutting out Zaid Noor 6-1, 6-3 in the men’s singles, Nasir Mushtaq was just too powerful for Syed Abbas, who he downed 6-1, 6-0.
In the Juniors under-17, Jahangir Rashid had to work overtime in finally getting the better of Salman 6-4, 7-5. In two other matches played, Syed Abbas had to work hard in getting past Zuhair Raza 6-4, 6-4 and Abbas Arif got the better of Mustafa Nanji 6-3, 6-2.
Ghulam Abbas looked very comfortable while beating Hammad Saleem 6-0, 6-0 in the boys under-15 event. The same could be said about Zuhair Raza, who downed Sarmad 6-0, 6-0.
In the last match it took Ahsan less than an hour to dispose of Salman 6-2, 6-1.
