KARACHI, March 19: Chinese businessmen should be accorded priority in Karachi for joint venture as this is the hub of the industrial and commercial activities in Pakistan. This was stated by leader of the visiting Chinese delegation and China Enterprise Confederation President Chen Jinhua while speaking at the luncheon meeting of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) here on Saturday. “Karachi is an economic centre and can play a very important role in further promoting China-Pakistan cooperation and investment in various fields”, he said. He underlined the need for exchange of business delegations between the two countries to enhance trade and investment volume. Mr Jinhua was of the opinion that frequent exchange of delegations would play a vital role in increasing cooperation and bilateral trade. He also underlined the need for joint ventures for boosting investment and cooperation.

Earlier, KCCI president Khalid Firoz said that the trade volume between Pakistan and China was not reflective of the historical relations between the two countries.

He invited Chinese investment in oil and gas, IT, telecommunication, engineering, infrastructure and agro-based industries.
