Proceedings against Faisal stayed


LAHORE, March 18: The Lahore High Court Chief Justice has stayed the proceedings of a wilful default reference against Federal Minister for Tribal Areas and Kashmir Affairs Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayyat and others, which was pending for adjudication before a local accountability court. Chief Justice Mr Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry also issued notice to the National Accountability Bureau, Punjab, for March 28. These orders were issued on the petition of Faisal and others filed under section 16-a (c) of NAB Ordinance, 1999, seeking transfer of the case from the accountability court No.3 to some other court in the province.—PPI
