PESHAWAR, March 18: Speakers at a seminar expressed on Friday their concern over the revamping of curriculum and examination system by the Aga Khan Board and termed it a plan to deprive the Islamic educational system of its ideological content. The seminar entitled ‘Do we need Aga Khan Board’ was organized by the Islami Jamiat-i-Tulaba, students’ wing of the Jamaat-i-Islami, here at the Peshawar Press Club to denounce the supervisory role of the Aga Khan Board, which had reportedly proposed some basic changes in the existing curricula and examination system in the country. The speakers discussed the merits and demerits of the Aga Khan Board’s proposed supervisory role for intermediate boards across the country. They feared that the board’s management would ultimately make the education expensive for poor children.
