KARACHI: Desalination plant under study, says Niamatullah

KARACHI, March 18: City Nazim Niamatullah Khan said on Friday that the City District Government Karachi was working on a project for desalination of seawater, besides K3 project to provide extra water supply in the city. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of water supply line installation at UC-6, Khokrapar of Malir Town here on Thursday night, he urged the people to end their ethnic differences. “We should maintain culture of transparency and merit according to Islamic teachings for a bright future of our city, as well as country”, he said.

He said Karachi was ideological city as it had been inhabited by those who had sacrificed for the creation of Pakistan.

Differences among various ethnic groups of the city had been created through a conspiracy in the past, but the period of turmoil and sense of insecurity has ended, he added.

Highlighting three-year performance of city government, he said efforts and will of town nazims, UC nazims, councillors and other people belonging to different walks of life had contributed to development of the city. Nazim Malir Town Naveedul Islam and Naib Nazim Waseem Mirza also spoke.—PPI
