BAHAWALPUR, March 16: About 78 jeeps flagged off on Wednesday morning for the day time 266km TDCP Cholistan Desert jeep rally from Derawar fort in Cholistan.
The drivers returned to finishing point at Derawar in the evening and set off for the 148km night rally after one hour’s break. But the rally had to be cancelled after about twenty jeeps were stranded in the desert.The rally after touching the remains of three other historic forts will terminate at Derawar fort on Thursday.
Twelve check posts — four mobile and six medical — have been set up along the route. Besides, arrangements for rescue, if any, including a helicopter and ambulances have also been made at the site.
