Gymnasium for HBS

KARACHI, March 16: Habib Public School (HBS) has embarked on constructing a multi-million rupees international sports gymnasium which will be commissioned at the fag end of the year.Being built on 14,000 square feet with wooden flooring inside the school premises, the proposed gymnasium will have a seating capacity for 1200 persons. When complete, it will provide facilities for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, handball and gymnastics.According to the master plan, there will be two basketball courts and eight table tennis matches could be played simultaneously. The work is being held under the aegis of Habib Education Trust, a visit at the site reveal.

In addition, a pavilion with a seating capacity of 500 people is being built close to the swimming pool while another to accommodate 1500 people is created around the athletic track.

Plans for laying a synthetic pitch at the hockey field are also under consideration of the management.

It may be mentioned that Habib School has excelled in sports, particularly hockey, producing a galaxy of stars including ace striker Sohail Abbas.
