KARACHI, March 16: SSGC’s Imran Sharif surprised everyone by winning Rahimyar Khan to Bahawalpur 5th leg of the 12th Tour de Pakistan International cycle race on Wednesday. Imran covered the 185km distance from Rahimyar Khan to Bahawalpur in 5:24.49 seconds leaving the pack of riders behind him in the 1858km race which terminates at Qila Bala Hisar in Peshawar on March 23. Wapda’s Dilsher Ali finished second with 5:33.14 seconds and Muhammad Asif of Pakistan Railways who had won Sukkur to Rahimyar Khan fourth leg made to the third spot in 5:33.34 seconds. None of the foreign riders from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Germany or Iran could carve a place among top three.
The 11-stage Tour de Pakistan’s shortest 103km sixth leg from Bahawalpur to Multan starts on Thursday morning.—APP
