Punjab triumph

BAHAWALPUR, March 14: Punjab won the team title while Bahawalpur finished second in the Punjab Open golf championship held at Bahawalpur Golf Club, says an ISPR press release.

Muhammad Munir lifted the professional category title.

He was followed home by Imdad Hussain. Shaukat Ali took the senior professionals top prize with Akbar Ali taking the second place.

Tariq Masood bagged amateurs net competition. He was chased home by Mubin Shahid. Zulfiqar Ali lifted the amateur gross event overcoming Safdar.

In the senior officers’ net event Abdul Qayyum won the first prize while Saulat Abbas was placed.

The third position was captured by Punjab governor Khalid Maqbool.

Iftikhar Ahmed and Tariq Masood stood first and second in the senior officers’ gross event while Khalid Masood finished third.

Other results:

Veterans net: Salahuddin first, Mian Yousaf second;

Veteran’s gross: Mansoor Saeed first, Riaz Bajwa second;

Hole-in-One: Pervez Akhtar
