SUKKUR: Rail traffic restored

SUKKUR, March 11: Up and down tracks between Rohri and Begmaji railway stations were restored on Friday evening after about 24 hours, following derailment of five coaches of two good trains on of Thursday evening.

According to the railway authorities, up and down tracks were cleared after hectic efforts made by hundreds of labour and technical personnel of the railways.

They said some 20 trains were affected which were now running five to 10 hours late.

It may be recalled that on Thursday evening five coaches of the two goods trains both on way to Punjab from Karachi derailed between Rohri and Begmaji railway stations.

The chief controller railways, Sukkur, said a container special was on way to Lahore from Karachi and when it reached near Begmaji its locomotive failed and another locomotive was sent from Rohri for replacement.
