RAWALPINDI, March 10: Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has suspended election of the Pakistan Engineering Council.

Justice Abdul Shakoor Paracha of the LHC admitted a writ petition for regular hearing filed by former Speaker of National Assembly Engineer Illahi Bakhsh Soomro, former Wapda Chairman Shahnawaz Khan and other petitioners who pleaded that the election may be declared null and void.

LHC issued notices to all respondents and directed them to file replies by March 25.
