PESHAWAR: UET signs accord with UK firm
By Our Correspondent
PESHAWAR, March 9: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET), NWFP, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the campus Consultancy Services (CCS)
, a British registered company providing professional services to students seeking to study in the UK.
Under the MoU, the CCS will facilitate the UET in developing academic linkages with the UK universities and help the graduating students and faculty to get admissions in UK universities, says a press release issued here on Wednesday.
Vice-chancellor, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, while adhering to the policy of the HEC to consolidate academic linkages with foreign universities said that universities had taken another bold step to hire a consultancy. The MoU would not only help in developing new linkages with UK universities but also facilitate in finalizing agreements that were already in process.
Dr Munir Lone, Director CCS, on this occasion said that during the last few years he had noticed that Pakistani students faced a number of problems during their admission in UK due to lack of proper information regarding their courses, selection of right universities and most importantly, visa obligations.
Experts at the CCS would help them in fulfilling the requirements of British High Commission. Moreover, when they would join universities, they would extend their services to make their stay comfortable. He also said CCS would also send a regular academic progress report to the mother university so that a contact between student and the university could be established.
