PESHAWAR, March 9: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has said he has taken notice of spurious drugs being sold in the local market and directed his department to launch a crackdown on the hazardous business.

He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Chemists and Druggists Association (PCDA) at the health secretariat on Wednesday.

DG Health Dr Jalilur Rahman, President PCDA Haji Arshad Siddiqui and other members of the association were present on the occasion. The minister directed the DG health to constitute a team headed by a high ranking health officer to check the business. He also directed the concerned authorities to play active role for controlling the illegal business.

It is worth mentioning that during the operation, action will be taken against those involved in sale or storage of spurious drugs and non-license holder chemists.

The delegation assured the minister their all out support in the operation. On the occasion the DG Health highlighted action already taken by the department to check the illegal business.
