HARIPUR, March 8: Three passengers were killed and five others injured when a passenger bus overturned after hitting a roadside on the Hattar road here on Monday evening.

The Hattar police said the Taxila-bound Bus overturned near the village Hattar one passenger was killed on the spot while seven others received injuries.

Two of the injured died at the Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, Hattar police said. Those killed were identified as Mohammad Saleem, son of Mohammad Aslam, Syed Mukhtiar Shah, Son of Syed Muqadar Shah, and Mir Afzal, son of Mohammad Muzaffar.

PASSENGERS ROBBED: Four bandits deprived some passengers and a cyclist of cash and valuables on Mirpur road here on Monday night. According to Qazi Shaukat, a resident of village Kahl, his sister was going home from Haripur city in a pick-up when they found a big tree trunk lying on the road in the jurisdiction of Kotnajibullah police station.

As the vehicle stopped, the bandits snatched gold ornaments, wrist watches, Rs15,000 in cash and other valuables from the passengers, Shaukat said. He said the robbers had also looted a car and two motorbikes and decamped with thousands of rupees and valuables.

When contacted, the Kotnajibullah police expressed ignorance about the incident and said they had no such information.
