SIALKOT: Workshop on leather processing concludes

SIALKOT, March 5: A five-day workshop on 'Modern leather processing techniques and clean technologies' concluded at the Cleaner Production Centre here.

The workshop was jointly organized by the CPC and the Leather Products Development Institute (LPDI) under the supervision of the Pakistan Glove Manufacturers and Exporters Association.

CPC Project Manager Muhammad Atif told journalists on Saturday that during the workshop, leather industry people from all over the country, including Karachi, Multan, Kasur, Hyderabad, Lahore and Sialkot, were informed about the latest processing technologies by UK-based experts Mark Lucas and Stuart Booth.

Punjab Industries Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Qaisar Shabir, PGMEA chairman Shaikh Abdul Waheed Sandal and Sialkot Dry Port Trust chairman Mehboob A Shaikh distributed certificates among the participants at the concluding session.
