JWP condemns police action in Marri Camp
By Our Staff Correspondent
QUETTA, March 4: Nawabzada Brahamdagh Bugti, a member of the Jamhoori Watan Party's central committee, said on Thursday that the Baloch wanted development in the province according to their wishes
and they would not accept any uplift programme against their will.
Talking to newsmen in Dera Bugti, he said the Baloch would not allow anyone to impose anti-Baloch development projects in the province. He condemned the police operation in Marri Camp and termed it state terrorism against innocent tribesmen. He said the operation had exposed the designs of the Musharraf government against the Baloch.
He said that on one hand President Gen Pervez Musharraf was offering negotiations but on the other hand he was using force against innocent people. The JWP leader rejected the claims of police regarding seizure of illegal weapons and ammunition and finding torture cells in the Marri Camp and termed it part of a character assassination campaign launched by the government against the Baloch nationalist leadership.
He said the Baloch would not bow before the rulers and withdraw from the struggle which they had launched for their national rights. He said people in Punjab were also expressing their concern over the government's atrocities against the people of Balochistan, which showed the gravity of the situation.
He said history proved that the Baloch had never surrendered before any dictator. He urged the Baloch youth to unite for the achievement of their rights.
