NSK encounter head for exciting finish
KARACHI, March 1: The four-day Patron's Trophy fixture between Allied Bank and PTCL was evenly poised at the end of the third day at National Stadium on Tuesday.
Needing 268 to win in almost five sessions, PTCL had already scored 121 for three with skipper Aamir Bashir (35) leading the way. They now require a further 147 runs with seven wickets intact.
Naved Latif blasted six boundaries in making 40 after Ashar Zaidi had been dismissed for a duck. PTCL, facing a first-innings deficit of 160 runs, made a remarkable comeback through their pace duo of Waqar Ahmed and Yasir Ali to bundle out the bankers for 107 in the second innings. Yasir took four for 19 in a deadly six-over burst and the left-armer Waqar had four for 30 in 12 overs.
