LANDI KOTAL, March 1: Kidnappersset free the son of a Peshawar industrialist on Tuesday after the local administration had tightened noose around a number of suspects.

The group of five kidnappers, who had abducted Mohammad Ayaz on gunpoint from Hayatabad on Saturday night, set him free near a Khasadar check-post at Nala area. Assistant Political Agent told Dawn that his Khasadar force had blocked all the entry and exit points to Bara in order to check the movement of suspects.

He said that his administration had arrested a dozen people during raids at several houses in Bara. "Perhaps the arrests and raids frightened the abductors and they released Mohammad Ayaz," said APA Bara.

Family sources of Ayaz said that his release was the result of effective measures taken by the Khyber Agency political administration and they denied having entered into any deal with his captors.

Mohammad Ayaz also said that his captors were frightened and confused. He said that he was set free from the vehicle they were travelling in near Nala after his captors saw a Khasadar party searching every vehicle.
