KARACHI, Feb 28: The police on Monday arrested two activists of a banned sectarian outfit for their involvement in shooting and bombing incidents.

A senior police officer said Mohammad Ishaque alias Sa'ad and Imran alias Bakraywala were arrested in Saddar following recovery of four grenades and two TT pistols from them.

The two, he said, were involved in providing logistic support to the killers of Maulana Saleem Qadri. They are also allegedly associated with those involved in Hyderi mosque and Ali Raza imambargah bomb explosions, he added.

He said the two suspects are affiliated with the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi. "We will produce them before a magistrate on Tuesday for obtaining their physical remand", he added.
