Aamir Sohail victorious

LAHORE, Feb 27: Former Test cricketer Aamir Sohail won the net event of the 15th Corps Commander Cup by a difference of only one stroke at the Lahore Garrison Golf Club on Sunday.

Aamir, an 18 handicapper from Lahore Garrison and the second day leader, maintained the lead when he returned a card of two-under-par-70 to make a three-day aggregate 208 (71,67, 70).

One stroke behind Mohsin Zafar (Gymkhana), the first day leader, secured the second position as he produced a card of four-under-par-68. His three-day break-up was 66, 75, 68.

Aslam Chaudhary finished third with an aggregate of 212 (73, 68, 71). Daniyal Jehangir claimed the gross event title with a wide seven strokes lead. He had a three day aggregate of 229 (77, 77, 75).

At 236, Imran Pervaiz of Karachi earned the second spot. The Garrison 'A' team comprising Brig Badar Lodhi, Brig Ashfaq Rasheed, Air Commodore Sohail Asghar and Major Nisar Khan aggregated 637 to win the team championship.

The Garrison 'C' team remained under-up with a total score of 644. The team consisted of Lt Col Asif Mehdi, Hamid Jamshed, Aamir Sohail and Masood Piracha.
