AJK proposes Kashmir football match

ISLAMABAD, Feb 27: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government plans a friendly football match with a team from Indian-held Kashmir to further boost relations after the proposed resumption of a bus service, an official said on Sunday.

AJK Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Deewan Ali Chughtai said he had asked Islamabad to allow friendly matches between people on either side of the Line of Control (LoC).

"Sport plays an important role in bringing people closer. Because the road is being opened I have asked the government here to allow soccer matches," Mr Chughtai told Reuters.
