KARACHI: Encroachment removed

KARACHI, Feb 26: The anti-encroachment cell of the Revenue Department, city government in collaboration with the police, officials of the Lyari Development Project (LDP) and the Keamari Town on Saturday removed encroachments from the journalists' colony in Hawkesbay.

According to the executive engineer LDP, M Amir, residents of Budhni Goth had encroached on over three acres of land in block 3A of the journalists' colony, besides trying to encroach on the Budhni Nullah passing beside the land.

The LDP officials, after taking notice of the encroachments informed the city government's Revenue Department, said Mr Amir, adding that a team headed by the DDO Enforcement of the city government then carried out an anti-encroachment operation with the help of the Keamari Town, LDP officials and local police.

He said encroachers did not put up any resistance during the operation due to the presence of a heavy police contingent.

Several other senior officials of concerned departments including the assistant executive engineer, Raheel, and the sub-engineer, Ali Zafar, were also present during the anti-encroachment operation. - PPI
