KARACHI, Feb 26: The annual parents day of the Defence Authority Degree College was held on Friday evening. Speaking on the occasion, DHA Administrator Brig Maqsood Hussain asked the students concentrate all their energies towards achieving excellence in academics.

He urged the students, teachers and parents to work in unison for achieving the cherished goal of success.

The administrator highlighted the importance of outdoor activities in the development of a balanced personality.

He said that DHA educational institutions provided academic ambience and intellectually stimulating environment with a view to produce confident and forward looking individuals who could deliver and contribute towards the betterment of society.

Brig Maqsood congratulated the college for achieving overall excellent performance in all the fields and particularly the splendid performance of students in different sports events at various levels.

The students who distinguished themselves at inter-board, inter-university, national and international levels included Yasir Khan (tennis), Abrarul Haq (cricket), Faraz Mehmood (the high jump), Faraz Ehsan, Kashan Edhi and Syed Ahmer Ali (table tennis).

Earlier, College Principal Brig (Retd) Mohammad Ali Jawaid in his welcome address highlighted the performance of students in academics and extra-curricular activities during the academic session.

The events of the function held in the college ground included cycling, marathon, tug of war and several interesting track and field events.

Qasim House won the overall inter-house trophy for best all-round performance.

At the end, the chief guest Brig Maqsood distributed prizes among the students who excelled in various events.

A large number of parents besides DHA officials and others attended the function.-APP
