KARACHI: Security guard shot dead

KARACHI, Feb 25: A security guard was killed during an armed robbery at Guru Mandir on Friday. Police said armed suspects barged into the office of Mobilink franchise located near the Grumandir traffic section.

They shot at the security guard, Abrar, 30, and fled on a motorcycle after collecting cash from the shop. The incident occurred at the busy intersection just few yards away from the Jamshed Quarters police station. The security guard was rushed to Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The victim was a resident of Solider Bazaar.

ACCIDENT: A woman died in a road accident in Garden area on Friday morning. After the accident, enraged people intercepted a minibus and set it on fire. Nawaban was crossing a main road when a speeding vehicle knocked her down and escaped from the spot in Ranchorline. Traffic remained suspended in the area for a short while. The woman was taken to the Civil Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

WOUNDED: A man stabbed his wife over some domestic dispute in Korangi Friday. Mohammad Boota stabbed his wife Nasreen, 40, in Korangi 100 Quarters. The woman was taken to JPMC, where she was admitted for treatment.
