APNS voices concern over Senate resolution

KARACHI, Feb 24: The All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) has expressed dismay over a senate resolution on the Seventh Wage Board Award, saying the matter is subjudice in the Supreme Court and the Sindh High Court.

According to a press release, the executive committee of the APNS, in a meeting presided over by its president Arif Nizami on Thursday, noted the position taken by legislators in the senate in support of the resolution on a matter which was sub judice.

The meeting adopted another resolution strongly rejecting a proposal to link government advertisements with the implementation of the award. The meeting also discussed the situation arising out of what it said one-sided statements of the information minister and the leader of opposition in the senate.
