PVF scraps international tournament

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Feb 23: The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has scrapped plans to hold an international tournament in March and will instead host a Northern Zone team from India.

The Indians will play five matches with Pakistan between March 15 and 22 at five different centres, PVF secretary Muhammad Afzal said. The proposed venues are Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore and Wah while an unofficial game in Sialkot is also being planned.

The PVF was keen on hosting an international tournament in Islamabad from Feb 26 to March 3 but then rescheduled it for March 20. However because of this April's Islamic Games in Saudi Arabia some of the teams did not want to come and the tournament is off, Afzal said.
