Imran's dismal show


KARACHI, Feb 23: National billiards champion Imran Shahzad of Pakistan had a poor show in the Asian Billiards Championship at Pune (India) by losing all three matches, according to message received On Wednesday.

Double Asian Games gold medallist Ashok Shandilya recovered after losing the opening game to defeat Imran Shahzad 3-1. Ashok won 85-101, 101-34, 100-36, 101-0 which included a break of 101 in the final game.

Imran also lost to Aung San Oo of Singapore 40-100, 9-100, 54-100 as well as against former Asian snooker champion and 1993 World snooker champion C.Prapurt of Thailand 3-0.

Defending champion Devendra Joshi and former world billiards champion Geet Sethi and 2003 World snooker champion Pankaj Advani notched up their victories to remain on course for a berth in the last eight stage of the championship. -APP
