Infiltration reduced, admits BSF

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Feb 23: Indian Border Security Force DIG Pramjeet Singh admitted on Wednesday that infiltration into Kashmir had reduced.

This was claimed in an official statement issued by the Press Information Department after Pakistan Rangers and the BSF held their quarterly meeting at joint check post at Wagah border.

Brig Sakhi Marjan of the Pakistan Rangers and DIG Singh led their sides in the meeting. The Indian official, however, could not give a satisfactory reply as to how smuggling was possible in the presence of BSF patrol and fencing of border.

Matters regarding international border, working boundary, combined patrolling, return of inadvertent border crossers, return of cattle head, repair and construction of pillars, violation of border ground rules, prevention of smuggling of narcotics and contraband, and release of prisoners from both sides were discussed in the meeting.
