PML mulls options to resolve crisis

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Feb 22: The ruling PML is looking into the allegations Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim and sacked minister Imtiaz Sheikh have traded, says a party leader and adds the one found guilty will be proceeded against.

Iqbal Dar, the additional secretary-general who is involved in the damage control exercise in Sindh, told Dawn on Tuesday that in case both the leaders were found involved in corruption, they would be replaced without delay.

He said while the corruption charges were being investigated by the relevant agency, the ruling party would give its verdict during the current week. Mr Dar said at present three options were under consideration: removal of Imtiaz Sheikh as party secretary-general, removal of Dr Arbab as provincial president, and sacking both to bring a new team which could take everybody along.
