SARGODHA: Varsities to be kept away from influence of politics

SARGODHA, Feb 22: Educational institutions, particularly universities, will be kept away from the influence of political parties. This was observed here on Tuesday by Governor Khalid Maqbool while addressing the students of Sargodha University.

The governor said no one would be allowed to influence the younger generation and use them as tools. He said the government had focused its attention on improving standard of education and research. For this purpose, universities were set up in Punjab, including Sargodha.

He was all praise for the progress made by the new university. He appreciated the pharmacy department and rated it among the best institutions in the country. He also gave the best teacher's awarded to Prof Dr Saeed Iqbal of the pharmacy department.
