SUKKUR: Two women killed - Karo-kari

SUKKUR, Feb 22: Two women were killed on the pretext of karo-kari in two separate incidents in Ghotki and Shikarpur districts on Monday night. In Ghotki's Pathan Mahar village near Khanpur Mahar, one Achar Mahar allegedly shot dead his stepmother Nadeeman, wife of Qabil Mahar.

Police handed over the body to relatives after post-mortem. Some unidentified people strangled a woman, Jejan, wife of Hakim Ali Rind, in the Peroz Khan Rind village, Humayoon police station jurisdiction, near Shikarpur. Hakim Ali lodged a case with the Humayoon police.

INQUIRY: Kashmore DCO Rashid Khan went to Karachi on Tuesday along with revenue record under directives of the Sindh chief minister. It was learnt that the revenue record would be presented before the prime minister's inquiry team, investigating the matter of sacked minister Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh.

CLASH: Seven people were injured in an armed clash between two groups over a matrimonial dispute in Pano Aqil on Monday night. Six of the injured, Chitro Mal, Ajeet Kumar, Suneel Kumar, Mahesh, Prem Chand and Bhesham, were taken to the Pano Aqil Taluka Hospital while one Om Prakash was taken to the Sukkur Civil Hospital because of his critical condition. Police arrested 12 people after the two groups lodged counter complaints against each other.
