SIALKOT, Feb 21: No classes have been held in the Government Boys Elementary School Chichariyali, Pasrur, for the last eight years.

Local people told reporters on Monday that the school was upgraded to middle level eight years ago and new building was also constructed. Since then middle standard classes could not be started by the education department. They urged the chief minister to look into the matter and direct the authorities concerned to start classes at the earliest.

GIRLS SCHOOL: Meanwhile, the students of Government Girls Primary School, Sohawi, Pasrur, have been facing the neglect of the department concerned for the last one decade.

Concerned parents of the girls told journalists the other day that the building of the school was dilapidated. Due to bad condition of the building, students study under open sky fearing that the roof might collapse any time.

They said the school also did not have boundary wall. Besides that, facilities like latrines, drinking water, electricity and furniture were also missing. They urged the Punjab chief minister to take notice of the situation and allocate funds for the construction of a new building and provision of other facilities.
