Relief work continues in Balochistan: ISPR

ISLAMABAD, Feb 19: Army personnel continued relief operations in southern and northern parts of Balochistan on Saturday.

A statement issued by the ISPR said relief operations also continued in Azad Kashmir, Northern Areas and the NWFP where life has virtually come to a standstill due to landslides and excessive snowfall.

The statement said food items were distributed among nearly 1,000 people in Kila Haji Khan and Kahno Zai area during the last two days. Relief operations were not possible by air in the far-flung areas of the district due to bad weather.

Nonetheless, army troops were engaged in keeping communications open. Medical teams have also been visiting the remote areas to providing treatment to the people, it added. Food items were distributed in Gwadar, Sunstar, Awaran and Turbat in army helicopters.
