SUKKUR: Six villagers kidnapped in Jacobabad

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, Feb 19: Six people were kidnapped along with a tractor-trolley from the Naura link road, Mauladad police station jurisdiction, Jacobabad, on Saturday.

Bakhshan, Sher Mohammad, Raham Dil, Allah Dad, Jan Mohammad, Mohammad Yakoob and Ghulam Rasool, all Brohis by caste, were going to their village in the tractor-trolley when a group of armed persons intercepted them and opened fire when they offered resistance.

Ghulam Rasool was injured in the firing. Except for Ghulam Rasool, the bandits took away the Brohi tribesman and their tractor-trolley. The injured was later taken to a hospital in Larkana in critical condition.

According to area people, the incident is the result of an old enmity between Brohi and Jakhrani tribes which started over snatching of a tractor from Jakhranis six months ago. Maula Bux, an elder of Brohi tribe, said despite information police made no effort to recover the tribesmen.
