Frontier govt criticized for boycotting NSC

By Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Feb 17: Criticising the provincial government for not attending the National Security Council meeting, the Central Coordinator of the NWFP Pakistan Muslim League, Mr Moazam Butt, said here on Thursday that it was an injustice with the people of the province that their problems would not be discussed at the central level.

Addressing a press conference, he regretted that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government had decided not to sit with the central government at any forum. The MMA had been targeting President Gen Pervez Musharraf from day one and had now decided to give up every sort of cooperation with the federal government.

By not attending the NSC meeting, how the problems relating to the province could be highlighted at the federal level, he wondered. "This is an injustice to the people of the NWFP." Non-cooperation with the central government amounted to not recognizing the Federation of Pakistan having four federating units, he remarked.
