HYDERABAD, Feb 16: An official of the sessions court raided the A-section police station in Latifabad here on Wednesday and found a man, Mohammad Shahid, in custody without any record of his detention.

Tariq Hashmani went to the police station after he was appointed raid commissioner on an application filed by Sarfaraz Ahmed, a resident of Latifabad-12. He stated that his brother had been picked-up by sub-inspector Rana Gulsher without any reason.

The court official visited the police station and found Shahid sitting in the room of head-moharir. The sub-inspector arrived there and said that an application had been forwarded to him by a trader on October 11, 2004, requiring interrogation of Shahid.

He claimed that he had gone on Muharram duty and in the meantime, Shahid had voluntarily visited the police station and he was not detained. The police official has been directed to appear in the court on Thursday.
