KARACHI, Feb 15: Moin Khan, the former Pakistan captain, hit a superb century and leg-spinner Imran Tahir snapped up five wickets to put PIA in driving seat of their Patron's Trophy Pool 'A' tie against Wapda at the National Stadium on Tuesday.

Moin, sidelined by the national selectors for several months, hit 11 boundaries and two sixes on his way to 115 as PIA reached 338 after starting the day at their overnight score of 257 for six. The 33-year-old batted for 227 minutes and negotiated 150 deliveries.

Wapda, however, showed little stomach for a fight and were eventually bowled out for 148 in their first innings a few minutes before the end of the second day of their four-day match despite an opening stand of 47 between Adil Nisar and Atiq-ur-Rehman. The collapse was triggered by Imran Tahir, who claimed five for 49 in 22.3 overs.
