By Our Correspondent

PESHAWAR, Feb 15: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has approved Rs486 million for the 300-bed Khalifa Gul Nawaz Medical Complex being built at a cost of Rs972 million in Bannu, the hometown of Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani, official sources said.

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec), at its meeting held on Dec 7, approved 50 per cent financing of the project. The project would be completed in three years. The foundation stone of the hospital had already been laid by the chief minister.

The sources said that early release of the amount would help completion of the project within its stipulated time. They maintained that the project was not going to be completed within its timeframe but the early release of amount would speed up construction.

A notification issued also said that the project should strictly be completed in accordance with the PC-1 on the basis of which it had been approved by Ecnec.
