KARACHI, Feb 13: The Jamhoori Watan Party - Sindh chapter on Sunday staged a protest rally outside the Karachi Press Club to protest against the government moves to set up cantonments in Balochistan , preparations for army operation, Gawadar mega projects, and displacement of the local population from Sui area.
Participants were holding party flags, banners and placards with slogans to stop repression and plundering of resources, and withdrawal of army deployment in the province.
The JWP leader, Saleem Baloch, on the occasion said that a conspiracy had been hatched to paralyze the Baloch people and take over their ancestral land, and turn the local population into a minority by settling people from other provinces. He said people from Karachi to Kashmore were united to back the Balochs, who would not allow anyone to usurp their land.
Mr Baloch said that on one side heavy artillery and armoured vehicles were being moved in, helicopters were hovering over the Sui-Bugti area, while on the other hand sensitive installations were being damaged to paralyze the entire country to create hatred against the Baloch people.
